Here we go! It sewed up rather quickly I'm happy to say. Has a lively active feeling. The wools are both ribbed and flat, merino and lambswool. The size is roughly 42 x 53 inches - just right to wrap yourself in.
See the slide show in the sidebar or etsy.com for more pics. I already have another one on the table - more of a shawl/wrap so stay tuned.
What do you think? Not sewn together yet as I need to trim some of the squares and then I'm ready to start. Note that I added a narrow bright blue strip to both ends of the blanket. The table is 4'x8' to give you some idea of the size.
I make blankets, throws, hats and scarves from fine second-hand wool sweaters. It is a combination of scavenging, felting, designing and sewing that appeals to me and luckily to a few others who have chosen to buy them.
When I was looking around to find out how to do it people were very generous both personally and anonymously via the web. In the spirit of passing along considered thoughts, musings, learnings...and maybe a little humor this is my way of giving back a little of what I know. Please enjoy.
About Subscribing
In case you are not familiar with how Subscribing works I thought I might explain. Bloggers add new posts rather randomly - some daily, some weekly, some every-once-in-awhile. If you don't want to have to keep checking their site subscribing allows you to be alerted when there is a new post - and you have choices as to how to receive it - via email, your reader or home page. Give it a try.
