Video Sweater Felting Tips

I am tiptoeing into video lessons and thought I would start by showing you what I'm working on right now.  These are very off-the-cuff clips of work in progress  showing the blanket I currently have on the work table after laying out the squares for the first time.

  1. Quick question: what are the size of your squares and how did you decide on that size?

Lovely blankets! And great idea for old mailboxes!

  2. Wow!! I am just becoming interested in this process. I will look forward to more of your posts! So do you put a back on your blankets? Thanks for all the great information here.

  3. DEAR ANONYMOUS, SQUARE SIZE IS SOMEWHAT A RANDOM DECISION BUT THEY ARE GENERALLY 9.5 Z9.5, 6X6 OR 5.5X5.5 WHICH ARE THE SIZES OF THE TEMPLATES i HAVE. IF THE SWEATERS FELT DOWN VERY SMALL THEN I WILL USE A SMALLER SQUARE SO THAT I HAVE LESS WASTE. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR COMMENTING.

  4. TODD, THERE IS NO NEED TO BACK THEM BUT I HAVE SEEN SOME PEOPLE WHO DO THIS. THE SEAMS ARE BUTTED TOGETHER SO BOTH SIDES HAVE FINISHED SEAMS AND GENERALLY WHEN THE SWEATERS FELT DOWN THERE IS ONLY A SLIGHT DIFFERENCE IN APPEARANCE FROM FRONT TO BACK. HAVEN'T BEEN TO SANTA FE IN YEARS BUT THE PUMPKIN RACER BLANKET, WHICH IS MY FAVORITE, DEFINITELY RECALLS A FEW TRIPS TO THAT GORGEOUS SPOT OF THE WORLD. THANKS FOR STOPPING BY.
